An Analysis to Introduction Section on Indonesians’ Research Article

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the requirements in Indonesian researchers’ article writing. The researchers studied the involved three articles as source of data which was derived from various Journal on Internet. First, Students’ Perception of Edmodo use as a Learning Tool was written by Erna Basania Siahaan from Universitas Kristen Indonesia. Second, An Analysis of Speaking Fluency Level of the English Department Students of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) was written by Salam Mairi from Universitas Negeri Padang. Third, The Effect of Online Learning English at Senior High School was written by Daun Rara, Muhammad Yahrif, and Hasnani from Universitas Megarizki. The researchers classified concept of introduction from those articles. The researchers analyzed the data through descriptive qualitative analysis method. the researchers analyzed the concept of introduction in those articles related to literature reviewed. The main point in introduction were the reason of choosing topic, the other related theories, the hopes and fact, and the relevant information. Introduction is usually made like a reverse pyramid, which begins with a global phenomenon, describes an event or a condition in general, then narrows and focuses to the substance of the problem. Structure of background of study or structure of introduction are opening paragraph, supporting paragraph, argumentative paragraph, and closing paragraph. The researchers concluded that Indonesian research articles is good enough in fulfill the requirement of introduction sections. The results indicated that researchers'' introduction was primarily devoid of comparable research (connected theories). Therefore, it is advised that the following researcher concentrate more on related research. Similar research is crucial to demonstrate the researchers’ integrity.
